BIOgraphy

Anthony MartinezGalvan is a multimedia artist who was born and raised in Los Angeles,CA. His practice is interested in the aesthetics and politics of language, often employing Spanish, his first language, or his East Los Angeles vernacular. He works in a variety of media including, but not limited to sculpture, performance, video, photography, and installations. His work often takes on a conceptual framework that functions as interventions intended to rupture the colonial and imperialist histories that are tethered to art and the institutions that support it. His work has been exhibited at the Luckman Fine Art Gallery, New Wright Gallery, Rose Gallery, Permanent Storage Gallery, and Make Room Gallery. He received his B.A. in Art from UCLA in 2018.
